Steve's Teaching Experience

Steve believes his educational experiences provides him

with a unique perspective for service on the South

Washington County School Board.

All of his six children attended schools in 833 while also attending & experiencing home schooling, on-line learning, PSEO, and the Math & Science Academy.

Steve began working as a paraprofessional in the 2008-2009 school year.

 

In 2009, he began teaching as a substitute teacher in public schools in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Since then he has taught in virtually every setting possible, including inner city schools in Minneapolis and Saint Paul, as well as suburban (622 Maplewood-North Saint Paul-Oakdale; Cambridge-Isanti; North Branch, South Washington County, Mahtomedi) and rural districts (Cannon Falls; Randolph; and Prescott; Ellsworth; River Falls, Baldwin and Somerset districts in Wisconsin).

 

In addition to the public school setting, Steve has taught home school, at private Christian schools (i.e. New Life Academy in Woodbury and Southwest Christian High School in Chaska etc.), and at both Harambee in Roseville and Crosswinds in Woodbury, formerly part of the East Metro Integration District (EMID).

Further, Steve has taught at every level including pre-school, elementary, middle or junior high, High school Alternative Learning Schools (ALC), and including transitional learning for adults 18-21. Again, he has taught as a paraprofessional, a classroom teacher, and a variety of special educational situations, and at every school in the South Washington County School District.
